Agave

Foam

Regenerative plant:

Grown for sisal in Kenya, agave leaves become rope — but the trunks usually go to waste. We turn those trunks into surfboard blanks. Harvested by hand, glued with a natural mix (50/50 Water/Wood glue).
No foam. No rubbish. Just good wood and green clean waves.
No harmful Dusts while shaping and a fully biodegradable Surfboard Core.

Density:

40-60kg/m3 but glassed thinner, you can expect a board about 10% heavier than a performance foam board

Durability:

The internal fiber structure provides the blank with much more rigidity against snapping and buckling. There are no recorded snaps since the material came on the market. Frothinsurf is building with the mindset of creating boards for a lifetime (7+years depending on usage and care). Only high quality materials and craftmanship.

Petroleum Based Plastic:

Releases toxic and environmentally harmful substances during its production and shaping processes. Cutting and Sanding creates Microplastic dust which is harmful to inhale. High CO2 waste while production and Almost impossible to recycle.

Density:

20-30kg/m3 (EPS); 30-50kg/m3 (PU) glassed thicker

Durability:

Usually very low, easy to ding and snap/buckle. High quality materials can make for a quite durable board but most Industry shapers are using very low quality material to keep costs low and revenues higher.
(estimated lifetime of an Industry board: 3 years)
